Producer FreelancePopboompow Jun 2014 - PresentI just finished Producing the Live Ideas Festival curated by Laurie Anderson for Bill T. Jones and New York Live Arts. This entailed working closely with the creatives as they developed the vision and work flow for the festival. Building the logistical support team to implement the festival vision. Managing the festival budget with support from the NYLA Director of Production to control cash flow, making fiscal adjustments when necessary. Worked directly with current NYLA Production staff and former Festival Producing Associate about process and bring in additional support where needed (ex: Festival Production Manager). Worked directly with NYLA Press Representatives, Marketing, Box Office and to address materials and deadlines. Worked with administrative NYLA Production Associate to draw up contracts with all talent. Oversaw the creation and implementation of pre-production and production schedules, floor plans, event summaries and the materials needed for production, press, marketing, box office, executive and creative teams.I am on to assist with a series of productions overseas over the summer!

Through her many years of working in the field, Kim is fully integrated in the New York City dance community and has high, professional standards for the work that Young Dance Collective produces.Young Dance Collective is what Ray Oldenburg calls a “third place,” a setting for the creative exchange of ideas, grassroots politics and a community-gathering place outside of the realms of home and school (or work). This opportunity for face to face dialogue, creative processing and spontaneity is incredibly important in our current cultural climate.Equally important is the exploration of live-time performance and visual art and Kim is committed to exposing these young dancers to an abundance of it as they delve deeply into their creative selves and the urban culture that surrounds them. www.youngdancecollective.org

Producing DirectorStreb Laboratory For Action Mechanics (Slam) Feb 2001 - Jun 2014Kim’s background is in Sociology, Dance and Education. She holds a B.A. in Dance and Sociology from Keene State College in New Hampshire and was certified in Dance Education through the Universtiy of North Carolina at Greensboro. Interested in the process of fostering integration through movement, she spent 5 years teaching dance in the North Carolina public schools system’s Gifted and Talented Magnet program created to facilitate voluntary integration in the school system. In 1995, Kim opened a movement education facility “Art In Motion” and began her exploration of the idea of a movement-based community facility. In 2001, she and her daughter moved to New York and Kim became the Education Director for the Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre. During this time, Kim began exploring the Williamsburg community and developing a plan for the educational arm of the STREB Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM) and in 2003 opened the SLAM school as SLAM’s Director of Education. SLAM currently has over 40 classes per week for children and adults. In 2004 she became STREB's General Manager and later Producing Director of the company producing commissions for Arizona State University, the River to River Festival, Whitney American Art Museum, and The Park Avenue Armory. Cullen was executive producer of STREB's touring show, FORCES and was the US Producer for STREB's engagement in the London 2012 Festival, "Surprises STREB: One Extraordinary Day," partnering with the Mayor Of London, the London Committee for the Olympic and ParaOlympic Games and London International Festival of Theater (LIFT).
