I'm dedicated to spotlighting our work to advance creative, lasting solutions to complex challenges. --I play a dual role as the Communications Director of EDC's U.S. Division and a senior grantwriter/BD strategist bringing in funds to advance EDC's mission.--Communications consultant and catalyst for five USD portfolios and all USD projects: Support publishing, advise on strategic plans, build staff capacity, identify trends, gather metrics.--Content strategist and producer for EDC.org: Collaborate to set course for site, conceptualize new features, guide strategic storytelling tied to USD business development, and write key content.--Senior grantwriter for division; since May 2019, have worked on 20+ business development initiatives. High success rates for the proposals I've worked on, including the National Science Foundation-funded STEM Learning and Research Center, the Head Start-funded National Center for Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety, and the Rhode Island Center for Early Childhood Professionals.--Member of the U.S. Division Leadership Team, Management Team, and Development Teams; the EDC Corporate Communications' Content Strategy and Communications Teams; and the Communications Subcommittee of EDC's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.

Led creation/quality control of innovative products; achieved high win rates on grant proposals; co-authored a Corwin book ("Teacher Leader Stories"); and was content editor of books published by Wiley and Rowman Littlefield. Completed a sabbatical focused on writing projects and pro bono marketing, communications, and fundraising consultation. Met sabbatical goals. Wrote 3 books--including "Now Departing" & "We're Not From Around Here"--and designed 2 board games. Advanced missions of Rhode Island Computer Museum, New England Wireless & Steam Museum, Library of Congress, and others.

Communications lead, senior content strategist, and lead grant writer for Learning and Teaching Division. Conceptualized, wrote, and edited proposals bringing in over $60 million. Served on leadership teams and corporate task forces focused on communications. Designed and managed website and intranet. Created online/print products to advance mission.--Conceptualized and wrote proposals submitted to U.S. Department of Education, National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Institute of Education Sciences, and Health Resources & Services Administration.--Led the development of online and print marketing collateral, including designing, managing, and upgrading division's website and writing/ghostwriting publications and products.--Contributed content to EDC.org website and headed up special projects targeted to raise EDC's profile, guide strategic planning, advance new business development goals, and build staff capacity.--Designed and managed division intranet that supported 300 staff's proposal and project work. Achieved low bounce rate and steady usage by majority of staff.--Was lead content strategist and project manager of an EDC website, Learning and Teaching, that was a key driver of the U.S. Division's strategic business development plan. Led annual upgrades to the site on a tight budget. Crafted descriptive text about key areas of focus; led art design; wrote hundreds of news items, staff bios, and blog posts; supervised team of technology specialists and site maintenance staff. Produced quarterly web traffic trend reports to gain insight into user experience and maintain a high number of visits from current and prospective funders. The number of visits tripled during my leadership of site.--Content/developmental editor for publications focused on priority areas of business development.

Lead writer, grant writer, and developmental editor for EDC's early childhood portfolio of work.--Lead grant writer of proposals funded by U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, U.S. Department of Education, National Science Foundation, and others. Worked closely with center director and project directors to strategically design proposals to achieve high win rate.--Wrote research reports, briefs, and articles to widely share EDC's findings on effective strategies to improve early childhood education, support teachers' professional growth, and ensure all young children's school readiness and success.--As developmental editor, supported staff in writing chapters and books focused on early childhood education topics. --As instructional designer, contributed to the development of professional learning materials targeted to support teachers in improving the quality of services they provide to young children and families.

Advanced fundraising and external communications goals, including writing/ghostwriting articles and reports, writing grant proposals, and developing and managing a website. • Wrote successfully funded grant proposals submitted to Carnegie Corporation of New York, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, A.L. Mailman Family Foundation, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and others. Researched prospects and worked with executive director to craft approaches to new funders. • Served as lead writer of three reports and several articles, and contributed to many other publications/products (briefs, training guides, promotional materials). Worked with leadership to develop, carry out, and refine strategic dissemination plan targeted to strengthen the early childhood workforce and improve care for young children. • Supervised administrative staff, work-study students, and interns to ensure smooth operations and to facilitate successful national events and trainings.
