About Kimberly Fleck
In January 2014, I embarked on a transformative journey, utilizing my creative talents to redefine my life while simultaneously engaging in a healing dance with illness. This pivotal moment inspired me to reject traditional classrooms and instead embrace the world as my learning environment. As the founder of Brand Fearless, I am dedicated to making a difference in the world through my work as a digital creator, published author, educator, wellness speaker, and animal advocate. Kim spent over a year putting together the idea and deciding on which women she would invite to join her on this journey. As the Universe would have it everything began to fall into place and the right women showed up. With the support of Dr. Ming Wu and his kindness in offering his space for events, she was finally able to bring her idea full circle. The panel holds events primarily at the Wu Healing Center, in West Hartford, Connecticut. Each event is part of a series exploring various topics related to wellness, mindfulness and how to “Just B”. Each woman brings a unique perspective to the panel in both their personal and professional lives. We are blessed to have a fabulous moderator, Christopher Kearns and we are grateful that he agreed to work with us. They are one of my greatest passions, and watching them grow and succeed is worth all the many struggles you may endure each day as a team.Served as the Special Education teacher for the self-contained behavioral program (Bridges) and the partial day program (Bridges 2) at the High School level. Deliver curriculum and provide instruction to students assigned to classroom, grades 9-12. Perform all of the regular duties and participate in all relevant activities. These activities include classroom instruction, preparation of lessons, development of tests, evaluation of pupil work, office reports, reviews of IEPs, committee work (departmental, curriculum, etc.), participation at team meetings, attending PPTs as required, faculty meetings, conferences, communication and meetings with parents/guardians and outside agencies, participation inopen house activities. Developed an IEP Reading Program, reading library, and student self-report reading notebooks. Taught humane education to students and provided them opportunities to be on a local TV show with Superintendent and local talk radio while giving help to the animals and people in their community. Attended professional development and TCI training sessions. Oversaw Senior Service Projects and independent studies of various core subjects. Tested students, completed progress reports, attended clinical conferences, assisted in creating BIPS/FBA, daily behavior, and academic points aligned with district wide PBS goals, conducted assessments (pre & post), created measurable Smartgoals, developed QUAs, and maintained close contact with parents/guardians/probation officers and other community agencies. Nominated in 2010 by peers for WHS Teacher of the Year. Had to decline the opportunity to pursue the nomination because I was not tenured yet in the district.
