I have had a diverse and exciting career in the healthcare sector in Zimbabwe and the Southern African Region. From my early General Nursing training in the UK and further qualification in Intensive Care and Flight Nursing, I returned to Africa and was involved in the initial set-up of the Medical Air Rescue Service. Through my work there and with the relentless efforts of an incredible and diverse team, MARS grew to become the gold-standard for Emergency Flight Medicine services in the Southern African Region. Later, continuing to work with my passions of delivering excellence in healthcare to the community, I was involved in consulting and teaching work, providing a solid educational basis to the growing network of nurses and paramedics in the Zimbabwean Pre Hospital Sector . It has been a point of significant pride for me watching generations of healthcare workers grow into skilled and caring individuals committed to a focus on patient care, despite a roller-coaster ride of political and economic turmoil. These men and women are the heart of the healthcare system in Zimbabwe and work tirelessly in often less than optimal conditions. It is my honour to have known, trained or worked with them. Following on from this I began working with Health International and Expacare Health Insurance as Claims Manager and then Medical Director. The dedicated team of excellent staff throughout all the company have been inspiring colleagues and together we aim to provide the highest standard of Health Insurance Services, and to continue to lead the industry in patient care and satisfaction. I continue to work remotely since moving to Perth, AustraliaAdditionally, I am a Manager at Salvado in Perth, Western Australia. The initial group of five Psychiatrists with a fresh and supportive plan for a Psychiatric Outpatient Unit has grown, to a total of 13 Psychiatrists providing inclusive and personal care for participants with a multitude of challenges
