Leading dedicated staff at one of the busiest libraries in the state while managing an urban library environment.

Lead a team of 50 through a major transition in administration. Completed a 5 year strategic plan, a space planning feasibility study, and two budgetary cycles. Introduced and developed several major collections in Needham: the Library of Things, World Languages, Language Learning, Video Games, and Express Books. Facilitated the Library's first 2 full staff days and first DEI audit of print collections. Strengthened community partnerships. Developed policies, and overhauled collections and spaces to modernize critical aspects of the library to meet the needs of the community in Needham today. Provided professional development opportunities for all staff levels. Created a culture of shared values and mission. Encouraged transparency, trust, and solutions oriented thinking.

Manage operations of an urban library circulation department. Develop team culture (and policies) in relation to the library’s mission and values. Schedule permanent employees and substitutes, at multiple service points. Plan and run the library's Instagram account (@walthamlibrary). Hire and train new staff. Plan for the future! Participate in developing a meaningful library of things aligned with our community’s needs.

Part of the management team for Public Services. Scheduled over 40 people into hourly shifts and managed service outcomes at the circulation and reference desks, as well as the info center (a call center). Participated in the hiring process and training new staff.

Curate and manage Special Collections in addition to tasks noted in Reference Librarian description. Managed a city-wide oral history project for the city. Increased accessibility to our materials by heading digitization efforts, implemented strategies to gain intellectual control of the collections, and provided reference services for the collection.

Provide reference services, assist Accessibility Services Librarian with Homebound Delivery and Assistive Technology. Manage an inter-departmental oral history project, Newton Talks, for the City of Newton. Responsible for collection development in travel and cookbook sections (over 6,000 items). Instruct technology classes in the library and at the Newton Senior Center. Participate on several teams: STEAM, Staff Development, Outreach, and Social Media.

Provide excellent customer service to patrons in one of the busiest libraries in the state. Run paging lists, missing reports, maintained Tixkeeper input, and created signage for the library. Researched and developed a 4-part iPad course offering and ran a science fiction movie-book club.
