Kim’s engineering expertise lies primarily in the strategy, concept and discovery area, where systems engineering is conducted to understand, represent and validate the customer requirements.In recent years she has concentrated more on research and experimentation, managing teams providing innovative solutions for mission critical programmes, providing the right solutions for complex problems, in a fast-moving technology driven environment.Kim is proficient in business process modelling and analysis, knowledge elicitation and requirements capture, service strategy and management, requirements analysis and management, critical thread analysis, value engineering, and capability gap analysis. Kim is particularly skillful in building coherent descriptions / models of the behaviour of complex systems. Systems she has analysed have covered a vast range from the projection of future air power (Carrier Future Vessel) for the UK to developing system architectures for Sweden’s Armed Forces, where an architectural approach was used to enable informed decision making. Kim has performed project lead, technical lead and development roles on a wide range of Enterprise Architecture (EA), modelling and visualisation projects in many domains, ranging from Defence (UK, Sweden and NATO); UK Government information systems and cyber research, to a number of prominent UK financial institutes. She has significant experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders to capture information, both informally and formally, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
