It is no secret that the Canadian Tire website was struggling to meet the sudden influx of demand during the first months of Wave 1 of the COVID-19 pandemic when store closures were mandated. I was seconded to the eCommerce leadership team, where we accomplished the impossible, we improved the website performance by over 200% in less than 2 months. How: Iterative approaches, thinking in days not weeks or months, collaboration, empowering smart people to make bold decisions and an unwavering focus on being there for our customers and Dealers. To quote The Motley Fool "The company’s e-commerce platform was a profound success that helped the firm weather the storm..." This era will forever be a career highlight.After the secondment, I returned to my mandate as AVP Technology Transformation: Transforming the way the whole IT department and our Business partners create value for our customers. Changing from a Project to a Product mindset, advancement of Agile methods, organizational design into tribes and squads, process lean thinking, organizational change management...this challenge had it all. It had to have it all in order to create real lasting change.

Career highlights in leadership roles at CTC include delivery of major Digital and Merchandising initiatives:-Canadian Tire Online Orders (eCommerce). Adobe CQ5 front-end and SAP Hybris back-end. The project went from initiation to Live in 10 months, a huge accomplishment!-Re-platform of canadiantire.ca from the legacy backend to Adobe CQ5 (AEM), enabling quick iterations to redesign the site and add new features.-The eCTM (Canadian Tire "Money") Loyalty program on canadiantire.ca and the mobile App.-Innovative In-Store Retail digital experiences including the massive showcase store in south Edmonton. Over 100 digital screens, 3D "patio builder" with Oculus Rift, wayfinding, etc. I was a recipient of Go for Gold for this initiative.-Champion of Agile (SCRUM)-Creation of a Centre of Excellence for Product Master PIM, using Stibo STEP MDM. Member of the Stibo STEP Customer Advisory Board.-Implementation of SaaS solutions such as PTC FlexPLM for our private label team and Coupa for Procure to Pay.-Build of a custom Java based web application for managing the Canadian Tire Flyer, with the important mission of creating the Flyer data needed to feed our data science based predictive analytics and Machine Learning models for optimization.-IT Integration lead for the Paderno acquisition.
