I'm a senior lecturer with expertise in Physiology and Molecular and Cellular Biology. My research specializes in understanding how one of the largest family of receptors, G protein-coupled receptors, work to mediate their cellular and physiological functions. These receptors are currently targeted by approximately 40% of prescription drugs, so understanding how GPCRs mediate their functions is paramount to intelligent drug design. This work has led to an F1000 listed publication, 'Paper of the week' in The Journal of Biological Chemistry and numerous conference prizes.I lecture on BSc, MBBS and MRes courses, and am involved in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment on these courses. I have worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry, gaining experience in R and D at Pfizer.

Senior Postdoctoral Research ScientistImperial College London Oct 2008 - May 2015My current research focusses on deciphering the functional role of GPCR di/oligomerisation. I have developed novel methodolgy using super resolution imaging to assess receptor-receptor associations. I am also exploring the impact of GPCR di/oligomerisaton on receptor functionality, using more routine assays such as Western blotting, BRET, EIA, confocal microscopy and other standard biochemical, signal transduction and molecular techniques. I design and deliver lectures for MSc, BSc and graduate entry medical students at Imperial College, and guest lecture at the Royal Veterinary College. I also design and supervise postgraduate student laboratory projects. I organise and co-chair weekly work in progress seminars within my department. -

Chairperson Of Young Endocrinologist'S Steering GroupSociety For Endocrinology May 2006 - Jan 2010Volunteer elected role acting to support the needs and act as the voice of Young Endocrinologists for the Society for Endocrinology. The role included representing the needs of Young Endocrinologists to various committee within SfE including Science, Program and Council committees, organising and chairing a symposium for the annual British Endocrine Society's meeting. I also implemented an annual networking event at the British Endocrine Society's meeting to encourage communication and networking between young endocrinologists and more senior established clinical and basic scientists.
