I hold Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Master of Continuing (Adult) Education degrees. My continuing ed thesis focused on the relevance of narrative (storytelling) to an individual’s education and developed my ability to write in storied form. I have incorporated writing into all avenues of my professional life. This has included communications positions with not-for-profits and agribusinesses, sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan, editorial associate for a national education journal and a senior management role with a professional organization in which I oversaw numerous publications and projects. I also understand the intricacies of not-for-profit organizational structure and board governance.As a result of work experiences as a manager, I possess a wealth of knowledge in a variety of management and leadership roles including supervising, mentoring and coaching teams; developing and monitoring budgets; creating and executing organizational strategic plans; and higher level tactical thinking.I'm a big advocate of teamwork and the old adage that "two heads" (or three or four or five!) are better than one. For me, it's all about process: getting all the necessary information and putting together a strategy that makes sense. I pride myself on my ability to see the big picture, but I also don't forget the details.
