Since, I retired from Waxahachie ISD, I have continued to serve the district. I am president of the Student in Need Committee for Waxahachie High School. I cookie deliverer for ATPE. I deliver items to the various campuses. This last year, I worked lobbying for the public schools of Texas, the active and retired teachers and CASA.

I taught for 31 years. The last 28 were in Waxahachie ISD. I taught 14 years at Turner Middle School and 14 years at Waxahachie High School. I am proudest of my years as Senior Advocate. I made sure that the seniors had the proper credits and had passed all of their TAKS tests in order to graduate. We were highly successful. I am proud to tell you that the last year Mr. Nix was principal of Waxahachie High School every senior graduated. We worked together to be sure our students received everything they needed to be successful. Put what was right for the kids first was always our motto.
