Kim is a financial services leader and philanthropic services executive with over 35 years experience at organizations including Bain & Company, Citibank, and Charles Schwab. Most recently she served for a decade as President of Schwab Charitable, a leading provider of donor-advised funds and other philanthropic wealth management services. During her tenure, Kim oversaw historic increases in annual giving to $4 billion and also encouraged the development of new technology, specialized services and educational resources to help individuals and their advisors integrate charitable giving into everyday wealth management and pass on important values to future generations. She worked closely with and managed an independent board of directors, working with a new board chair to incorporate best governance practices.Prior to her role at Schwab Charitable, Kim served in strategy, product management and executive leadership roles for Schwab’s active trader, options, general investor, fixed income, and mutual fund offers. She has also served as Schwab’s San Francisco site leader. Throughout her career, she has consistently inspired action and developed highly functional and engaged teams. Kim serves on the board of Giving Compass and has served on the board and executive committee of Students Rising Above and on the board of the Educational Foundation of Orinda and as the head of its investment committee. Kim has been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the most influential women in Bay Area business and has been a member of the Northern California chapter of the International Women’s Forum. She holds a BA in Economics and a BS in Biological Sciences with distinction from Stanford University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
