I updated and created manuals using InDesign. I updated previously designed material: resizing and making sometimes extensive changes. I proofed text and format for monthly agricultural magazines and special editions. I worked on PDFs of final pages, proofing text, fact-checking, proofing formatting and tables, and copy editing minor issues close to deadline.

I copy edited and proofread a new website for a small business owner. Extremely detailed work, I checked for formatting consistency from page to page, and picked up all the usual copy editing suspects (I hope!) I also did some content editing on the longer pieces of text.

I edited a children’s book by a first-time author. A combination of content editing and copy editing, I helped her by pulling a plot out of her story, editing for consistency, removing repetition and helped her achieve her life’s dream, which felt mighty satisfying.

I proofed and copy edited financial reports for several years. I was responsible for quality control of hundreds of financial tables (NOT the numbers, thank God), making sure the layout was consistent in both the French and English versions. Made sure the copy was consistent with client’s particular style requirements. This job required extreme concentration.

I copy edited, coordinated production of magazines and newspapers and worked on layouts of same.
