I do this by sharing our story and by providing insights during the presentation. I share real and candid moments of when my youngest son was diagnosed with ASD and what we have been through to date. My goal is to show parents they are not alone, that there are tough times but with resources and help you can get through it. I aim to provide some hope to parents that having a child with Autism can be a gift in so many ways.The Child Development Centre hosts an "After Autism Diagnosis" meeting for parents of newly diagnosed children on the Autism Spectrum. My role is to coordinate with the social worker(s) from the Child Development Centre and provide insight into the material they are going over with parents. -
