Working with individuals, small groups and large groups to develop the skills needed to achieve shared goals.

From 1985 until 2000, I worked at the middle school level teaching Industrial Arts. Woods, electronics, plastics, computer skills, architecture, and mechanical drawing were some of the subject titles. Students learned how to problem solve to create solutions. In 2000, I went on release to continue education advocacy as the local union president until 2013 then continued on release to serve as the state union president until 2019.

Three term elected leader of the Washington Education Association. Our membership of over 95,000 included preschool through graduate school employees. Together, we worked to achieve the best public education for our students and the best working environment for public educators.

Elected President of the Everett Education Association. My role included working with individual members as well as the full union to achieve membership goals.
