Working to expand and support programs that help stabilize Lake Mead, protecting the state’s groundwater resources and rivers, and increasing water management flexibility in Arizona. Collaborating with key water stakeholders and conservation partners to promote new concepts for rural groundwater management that benefit water users while promoting water supply security. Helping connect farmers and ranchers with USDA Farm Bill's funding and programs to help growers put water efficient projects into action and improve Arizona's water management.

Contract consultant providing professional services in areas of water management and planning. Served as lead technical editor in completion of 2015 Central Arizona Groundwater Replenishment District Plan of Operation. Designed/wrote first enhanced 2014 CAGRD Annual Operations Report and two subsequent reports. Wrote White Papers on various water policy topics to advance CAP Board directives. Assisted staff in presenting complex water policy effectively to stakeholders, Board members and water community.

Responsible for all contracts and intergovernmental agreements in support of the AWBA Commission. Agreements involved storing sufficient water to firm municipal and industrial supplies, to assist in Indian water rights settlements, and to fulfill interstate obligations with Nevada. Represented the Water Bank in the USBR Seven Basin States meetings and the Colorado River Advisory Committee. Participated in complex negotiations with officials from the US Dept of Interior and adjacent states regarding Colorado River interstate concerns. Worked closely with local governments, irrigation districts, water providers, Indian communities, neighboring states and the Federal government all with diverse opinions on issues relating to water rights, purchase, delivery, and storage of water.

Worked in a number of disciplines including the Recharge, Instream Flow, and Special Studies Programs. Initial project lead for recharge program which involved determining hydrologic feasibility, design criteria and implementation of policy and procedures. Expanded the instream flow program and assisted applicants in obtaining Certificates of Water Rights to protect streamflow in support of fish, wildlife and recreation - analyzed streamflow data, conducted field investigations, and taught streamgaging workshops. Conducted groundwater basin studies with research in groundwater supplies, surface water statistics, storage estimates, water budgets, and impacts of water use on groundwater systems. Provided hydrologic support to the Legal Division on complex applications for surface water rights and has served as technical editor of numerous hydrologic reports.

Evaluated data on water utilization and water rights. Prepared conveyances of grandfathered groundwater rights. Assisted in design, preparation and review of annual report forms.

Performed field work involving groundwater and surface water quality surveys. Groundwater quality investigation focused on occurrence of nematode pesticides in groundwater and utilized collection of well data from drillers logs, water samples, water-level measurements, and basic water chemistry. Surface water quality investigation focused on occurrence of DDT in surface water bodies.

Participated in data collection for monitoring of shoreline erosion along Lake Michigan: sedimentation analyses, runoff/erosion relationships, aerial photography interpretation.

Researched effects of industrial wastewater on river ecosystems, estimated eutrophication rates in Indiana water, conducted fish toxicity bioassays and analyzed water samples.
