Started my career in the Banking Industry and was a senior loans officer with CIBC. After a stint at home being a stay at home mom, started a career in the travel industry for 30 plus years. Managed agencies in PEI and Nova Scotia. Worked with Island Travel, The Travel Store, Admiral Travel , Atlantic American Express and then Maritime Travel. Earned CTM designation in 1998 and was awarded the McGuire Walmsley Memorial award for the Highest Marks across Canada for my CTM paper. During my travel career, in 1988 I became a volunteer with a national not for profit cultural exchange organization and was elected as Regional President, then sat as the Vice President of the National Board of Directors in Montreal for 4 years, and sat on the Board of Directors for Intair Travel in Montreal. Hosted many students from around the world who still call me "Mom". In 2007 I left the travel industry and accepted a position with Nacel Canada another not for profit cultural exchange organization based in Edmonton, as the Regional Co-ordinator for Atlantic Canada. I retired from this position in September of 2016, but have kept my hand in the travel business through my own company Coronation Travel. Coronation Travel organizes group tours predominantly to the UK and the sets of Coronation Street. We are one of the very select number of companies granted permission by ITV Studios to bring people onto the sets of the well known British Drama that has been running since 1960. I currently sit on the Board of Directors for Hospice PEI.
