Kim Morris is Australia's second senior Registered Horticulturist holding the registration 0002 at the Australian Institute of Horticulture.He has an Industry background in horticulture as a base, and has been involved in developing horticulture programs for remote indigenous communities in solar powered hydroponic vegetable production (Woorabinda, Home Hill, Kuranda, Cunnamulla and others) and a green belt dust mitigation program at Alpurrurulam NT remote desert community.In 2006-9, Kim helped design the national training program for the Singapore Landscape Industry and later delivered the review process of the Singapore Certified Practising Horticulturist program.Kim is a co-partner with Andrew Prowse (Landscape Architect) and together they own the award winning design company 'Garden City Design Co' responsible for the co-design with the landscape bureau of Zhanjiang China in creating the 37ha Sino Australian Friendship Garden. Currently he is working with the Office of Australian War Graves to oversee the horticulture and design aspects of large War Cemeteries in PNG, Queensland and NT.Past work with the development of the national Landscape Industry training program for the Singapore Workforce Development Agency and the Certified Practicisng Horticulturist program with the Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology Singapore are significant work projects.Kim has been the Garden columnist for The Cairns Post newspaper (News Ltd) since 2001 and current garden broadcaster with ABC Far North radio.Kim was National President of the Australian Institute of Horticulture (AIH) from 2008-12 and is currently Secretary of AIH and is involved with the regional group Cairns Landscaping Industries Cluster (CLIC) in Far North Queensland.Kim is currently writing a tropical garden book.
