• Lead all business aspects of the nation’s largest and most acclaimed theatre dedicated to serving multigenerational audiences that employs over 400 people and serves 275,000 community members annually. • Areas of responsibility include finance, marketing, and communications, development, human resources, education, commercial producing and artist contracts, facilities, audience services, operations, play licensing, union relations, community partnerships, equity, diversity and inclusion, and government relations. • Reporting to a 50+ member board of directors, responsible for the effective management of nine board committees and the full board.

Served as a member of the senior leadership team and president’s cabinet for $400 million institution. Responsible for a division of 97 staff focused on marketing, communications, development, advancement, alumni relations, neighborhood relations, media relations and government affairs. Staff two trustee committees and attend full trustee meetings. Served as co-chair of the Enhanced Visibility and Profile Task Force as part of the Strategic Planning Implementation Committee.Results included: • Developed and implemented restructuring of division to a comprehensive university advancement model. • Led and launched a comprehensive rebranding of the entire university to align marketing and communications efforts as well as overall positioning of the university locally and nationally. • Grew contributed revenues 21.5% in one year, raising $17.5 million. • Developed plans for a centralized marketing function. • Created staffing plan resulting in 20 hires and low staff turnover. • Served on a seven-member leadership team that works with the president to run the university. • Developed overall strategic direction for external advancement of St. Thomas.

Served as a member of the President’s Cabinet for $100 million institution. Responsible for leading all aspects of advancement including major gifts, planned giving, annual fund, advancement communications, advancement services as well as alumnae relations, fine arts programming, and the literary arts institute. Manage two trustee committees and oversee a division with 43 employees.Results included: • Doubled overall giving to $11 million per year. • Achieved annual giving growth of 28% in two years and FY13 was the highest annual giving total in College of Saint Benedict history (at that time). • Secured 100% trustee giving for three consecutive years and increased alumnae giving. • Produced three-day all-school centennial reunion attended by 1450 alumnae from seven countries and 38 states and a centennial gala for 500.

Responsible for the strategic direction, organizational development, communications, programming, artist relations, committee relations, operations, and fundraising efforts to realize the Cowles Center from conception to reality. Results included: • Established a 34-member steering committee and developed governance structure. • Developed new mission, vision, values, and branding. • Co-led the building design process from initial concept through design development.

Responsible for the strategic direction, organizational development, communications, programming, artist relations, committee relations, operations, and fundraising efforts to realize the Cowles Center from conception to reality. Results included: • Established a 34-member steering committee and developed governance structure. • Developed new mission, vision, values, and branding. • Built operating and financial plans for overall operations. • Raised $34.5 million toward $41 million capital campaign goal.

Led the strategic planning and execution of the annual fundraising campaigns that incorporated government, foundation, corporate and individual sources. Developed prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts in all areas. Supervised and led department of eight and served as member of senior management team for the theatre.

Managed adult arts education program that presented over 70 sessions for more than 10,000 adults annually in ballet, modern dance, theater, opera, jazz, and classical music. Created a national three-week summer ballet program with Suzanne Farrell. Initiated and developed adult arts education project with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters to conduct the presenting field’s first study of adult arts education resulting in the Learning Audiences publication and seminar.
