As a dedicated Mental Health Nurse specialising in early intervention for first episodes of psychosis, with a keen interest in perinatal health, I am passionate about supporting individuals during some of the most critical stages of their mental health journey.Although I am newly qualified and currently in my Preceptorship, I have over 5 years of experience in the care sector, gaining diverse insights in both Nursing and Midwifery. This background has enriched my ability to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.In my current role within a specialised team, I deliver evidence-based care and therapeutic interventions aimed at promoting recovery and resilience. During my time here, I have started to develop valuable skills and knowledge to support individuals aged 14-65 with suspected early psychosis. I am skilled in performing thorough assessments, creating individualised care plans, and offering both clinical and emotional support to patients and their families.Not all patients referred to our team are experiencing psychosis, which makes it essential to conduct holistic assessments that capture the full scope of each patient’s needs, ensuring they are placed on the appropriate care pathway. I work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care that not only addresses immediate concerns but also supports long-term mental health outcomes.I am committed to reducing stigma, promoting early intervention, and continuously advancing my skills and knowledge to better serve my patients.
