CeoIvolve Industrial Technology Jan 2005 - PresentSouth Brisbane, Qld, AuIn 2005, Kim Parascos commenced the transition of her industrial consulting business, iVolve, into a product and software company, tailored to the demanding requirements of the mining industry. Today iVolve works with three of the world’s five largest mining contractors, with deployments across Australia, Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, and North America. In the last three years, 4 of the world’s 10 largest mining companies have deployed iVolve’s solutions across their sites. The change started when two of Kim’s clients, Rio Tinto and Automated Positioning Systems, separately expressed a similar need: to get live data from their vehicle fleets. In response, iVolve developed Nexis, a standalone hardware product, providing wireless access and mesh networking across an industrial or mining site. Kim continued to develop the business. She realised the huge potential to deliver live operational data to mine managers. At the time, decisions in mining operations were being made on data that was weeks if not months old. Kim believed that this had serious safety implications. She also saw optimisation opportunities if mine operators could make production decisions based on data relevant to the current shift or day. By 2006, Nexis was being sold as an OEM solution installed globally.Two years later, a request from Leighton Contractors led iVolve to focus its development ofPAMS, a software solution for tracking personnel and assets, with safety features such as location tracking, man-down detection, messaging and communications. After winning a contract with an Indonesian mine, iVolve recently entered the Asian market and will expand using a new, services based model. The model, which recognises the skills shortages in the Asian mining industry, provides remote management of customers' assets and site personnel training.
