The Council of Financial Educators (COFE) was developed to assist individuals with understanding the various types of income streams available from different retirement vehicles and how to best access them. Having witnessed so many enter their retirement years with no plan in place, and little knowledge of how to age with financial security, I realized the need for retirement education prior to the ‘golden years’.COFE members are made up of professional financial advisors who are professional educators first. They are committed to helping people develop personalized scal strategies that are best for their unique nancial needs. They are also available to assist students with the implementation of appropriate plans and strategies if the need arises once the courses are completed. However, all COFE classes are offered free of charge to the public with absolutely no strings attached for attendees. Our financial professionals teach and answer questions in our classes

As the Director of Transportation, I worked with a local mental health and substance abuse facility to ensure that patients were provided with safe, dependable and confidential transport. Building BWT Transport from the ground up was both challenging and fulfilling. Providing cost-effective transport to a hospital with four campuses, and eliminating their multiple vendor approaches, proved to be extremely cost effective for my customer and profitable for my company. Dealing with patients with a variety of mental conditions required kindness and patience. With an ever-growing staff and number of transport vehicles, scheduling and flexibility were a must in this position. While interactions with patients and staff could be challenging, I found that a close attention to details, flexibility and a sense of humor made this work both fulfilling, enjoyable and successful.

A non-profit, professional payee service, my work with Secure Benefits provided an excellent opportunity to utilize my strong organization and budgeting skills. Clients were comprised of individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues as well as those who were deemed unable to manage their personal finances. Confidentiality in dealing with both clients and Social Security was key. Meticulous record keeping, and reporting ensured the protection of client’s assets and continuing financial security. Implementing a focus on excellent customer service, and greatly improved processes enabled us to triple the number of clients during my time with the company.
