I am an Art Therapist with professional membership of ANZACATA. I have a background in education and as a practicing artist (ceramics), and an extensive experience in all art materials and media. With a wide range of professional and personal experience, I work within a person-centred, reflective, and strengths-based approach. My aim is to support clients to learn more about themselves by providing an open and non-judgemental space for exploration using art materials. I am passionate about addressing individual clients goals and objectives, including managing symptoms of anxiety and depression, increasing coping skills, managing self-harm, and increasing emotion regulation, through creative and sensory interventions. I currently work with a range of presentations including autism, OCD, trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, acquired brain injury and aged care. Enquiries for tailored Corporate team building sessions welcomed.Being a Senior Art teacher for 20 years i had always noted the changes in my students when engaged with art materials. My "discovery" of Art Therapy as an Allied Health intervention occurred while supervising a session on Careers day at school. A presentation by Patricia Fenner from Latrobe University piqued my interest. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others and this seemed to be what I was looking for. I would love to see Art in schools encouraged for wellbeing. As a practicing Ceramic artist my work is often quirky to elicit a sense of fun. My art is an outlet for me to relax and enjoy myself and hope this is evident on my work.
