• As part of the engineering design team, designed an anaerobic digestion facility in Matara, Sri Lanka to convert bio-degradable municipal solid waste (MSW) to bio-methane which included flowsheet development, costing of equipment, and generation of process documentation such as process description and P&IDs.

• Designed and implemented a commercial level production plant for Sarah Salt Company, Sri Lanka to convert crude solar salt to high-quality refined salt as part of an interdisciplinary team, which included calculating mass and energy balances, sizing, and design of process equipment and development of P&IDs. This project consisted of a considerable research component (new process development) and I was actively involved with research and preparing technical documents with methodologies and results.This refinery facility with a production capacity of 1MT of refined salt per day was able to improve the purity level of salt into 99.6%(w/w) NaCl which exceeds the required standard in Sri Lanka of 97.0%(w/w) NaCl. This process was able to reach a profit margin of 83%, which was a 112.3% increment compared to the existing process. • Managed the process quality and the performance of the salt manufacturing process• Performed work and time study analysis of the tea production process of Van Rees Ceylon Ltd, Sri Lanka.
