I work for the Town of Amherst, New York in the Planning Department as a Senior Planner. I am currently working on:1. Long Range Planning - updating the Town's Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code, dealing with new and emerging trends in the region and nationally and how they can apply/shape the Town of Amherst and its goals/policies.2. Project Management - special projects/studies on various topics in relation to smaller area plans and initiatives.3. Current Planning which deals with applications for development (site plans/rezonings), the review process of those applications, and getting them ready to be reviewed by either the Planning Board and/or Town Board.

I was a teaching assistant for various urban planning classes at the University at Buffalo for my two years as a graduate student. I was the teaching assistant for PD 120: Introduction to Urban Studies in the Fall 2012, and PD 494: Visions of the City, a capstone course for the undergraduate Environmental Design degree in Spring 2013 (all during my fist year as a graduate student). A professor asked me to continue on with him for my second year of graduate school, where I was the teaching assistant for URP 501: Evolution of the Urban Structure, a required introductory course for the Master of Urban Planning in Fall 2013, and the teaching assistant for PD 494 (now called URP 494) for the second time.As a teaching assistant, I had to grade assignments, organize class time, keep organized records and grades, take attendance, answer questions, teach a session or two, and assist professors in their outside research or other academia. All of this was done while doing my own schoolwork as well.

I completed a Study Abroad program in Tallinn (the Capital) and Tartu, Estonia for 6 credits. We learned about Sustainability and European Planning. We traveled to so many places and sites, and even worked with Estonian students on a 48 hour planning challenge where we redesigned Tartu's City Center. It was an amazing experience!
