The TU Delft team is Grand Prize Winner 2017 and won several additional awards. My motivation for iGEM: drive our project beyond the borders of "just" scientific research and secure the relevance and responsibility within our project. As Human Practices manager, I was responsible for the 'Integrated Human Practices' (IHP), the 'Education and the Public Engagement' and the 'Applied Design'. It was my job to start dialogues with the different stakeholders and to adapt our project and the final application accordingly. Also, I have have been working on education for synbio engineers with the project “How can engineers include relevance and responsibility in their design”. The iGEM Competition is the premiere student team competition in Synthetic Biology. For over 10 years, iGEM has been encouraging students to work together to solve real-world challenges by building genetically engineered biological systems with standard, interchangeable parts. Student teams design, build and test their projects over the summer and gather to present their work and compete at the annual Jamboree. Participation in the iGEM competition empowers teams to manage their own projects, advocate for their research and secure funding. It aims at providing high quality strategic advice to all types of organisations, including ones that would normally not have acces to external consultants. Moreover, De Kleine Consultant enables students to develop themselves and learn about strategy consulting and project management in a structured manner. Augustennis is a new students tennis association in Leiden. I initiated and set-up my own tennis board and we were responsible for the strategy and branding of the association in order to establish a tennis association in cooperation of the board of the tennis club T.C. Unicum.

DNA-Lab"Racen met Wc-papier" is laboratory session about renewabe energy using microorganisms in biotechnology. 'Reizend DNA- lab' makes students in secondairy school aware of the possibilities in genomics and by guiding the students through a research process.Tasks include:• Coordinating chemical laboratory sessions for the secondary schools in the Netherlands.• Responsible for teaching and instruct the students in secondary school• Inspiring and motivating the students for the scientific educations in university .

Doing research while investigating new molecule structures with Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
