Rotech generates annual revenues of $500 million as the third largest national provider of home oxygen, respiratory equipment, sleep therapies, and durable medical equipment. Rotech’s 112 subsidiaries employ 3500 people, servicing patients out of 400 operating centers across the United States.Led Risk Management, Information Security, and Real Estate Departments in addition to managing Legal Department consisting of another attorney and two paralegals. • Directed the company’s response to major security breach of protected health and personal identification information of 12,000 individuals, and concluded the resulting Health and Human Services, Office of Civil Rights investigation without imposition of fines or penalties• Managed bankruptcy claims conciliation process and obtained final decree from Bankruptcy Court • Implemented Board-directed rapid changes in senior executive management and negotiated severance settlements for CEO, CFO, CPO, CHRO, SVP of Operations, Assistant Treasurer and CIO• Lobbied for relief from CMS price reduction rule through industry coalition and meetings on Capitol Hill with senators, congressmen, and legislative aids • Reduced outside counsel spending by $800,000 during first full year managing legal budget• Replaced Rotech’s business insurance broker and negotiated reductions in fixed costs valued at more than $600,000 and reduced WC/Auto carrier’s cash collateral requirement by $2.1 million• Won bid protest litigation in the Court of Federal Claims against the VA, resulting in preservation of a contract providing $22 million in annual revenues• Directed the company’s response to pending federal criminal investigation related to self-reported billing error and related $6.5 million Medicare refund
