support my assigned stores business plan and the direction of Corporate Loss Prevention by providing leadership, expertise, and training to my assigned store for the reduction of inventory shortage and controllable losses. I am successful by consistently demonstrating the following core competencies.Key Accountabilities:- Leadership - managing and communicating the overall LP effort and shortage reduction within store; develop and execute LP plans and shortage programs.- Supervision and Development - administering and enforcing the policies and standards of the company, recruitment and hiring of loss prevention associates, staff, training, development of staff on core responsibilities; job performance counseling; leading process of shortage plans and ensuring they are actionable, measurable, and impact the shortage bottom line.- Developing Partnerships - developing an open line of communication with both LP and store associates, central and corporate executives; build positive business relationships- Administration & Technical Skills - developing and implementing store shortage plans; responsible for all internal investigations and external case management; testify in civil and criminal court proceedings, maintaining and adhering to payroll, expense and capital budgets; effectively handle multiple tasks and projects.- Network with local law enforcement, mall management and legal council.- Provide a safe environment for customers and associates.

My primary responsibility is to prevent the loss of company property while maintaining a safe business environment. Support store's efforts in providing the best customer service within a controlled environment so as to ensure maximum sales at the highest profit rate attainable. Under general supervision and established procedures, the LP Detective detects and apprehends shoplifters and dishonest employees. Performs other duties as assigned.Essential Functions:- Have knowledge of and maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, searches and seizures, and the preservation of evidence- Successfully complete all Loss Prevention training requirements including CPR and First Aid and maintain personal certifications as required by law- Testify in court concerning any case, criminal or civil, wherein the company is a party of interest to which the LP Store Detective is summoned- Responds to alarm conditions at assigned store.- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Conduct surveillance to detect loss within a store environment.Conduct physical security checks. Make recommendations for ways to prevent loss.Conduct safety inspections and communicates hazards to Management.Participate in the training of new hire Associates to address the areas of Loss Prevention.Take an active role in identifying all forms of loss, motivating shortage control involvement and helping to identify creative shortage control solutions.Responsible for heightening store Loss Prevention awareness.Install and utilize CCTV equipment.Learn and use the latest in advanced interviewing and interrogation techniques.Work in a multi-unit work environment.
