Currently, I am an AYA Cancer Survivor Specialist. I enjoy advocating through writing, speaking, and hosting fundraising events. My unfortunately common encounter with Stage IIIA Breast Cancer has been a gift and a curse. Because, now, in everything I do, I always taking into account what I, or my peers in the cancer community, would want, need, and utilize, always with a focus on community support.In addition, I am a content writer for The West River Eagle Newspaper in Eagle Butte, SD. I cover breaking news and local community newsworthy topics, in addition to writing editorials, I am a member of the WRE Editorial Board.I am also an active member of Elephants and Tea’s PAC. Further, I am a regular publication contributor. Finally, I am the writer behind Elephants and Tea's online "Cannabis Column with Kimber," where I write about my own personal experiences with my glorious plant medicine, cannabis, both before and after my cancer diagnosis. I enjoy being a strong advocate for people, plant medicine, and justice. After cancer, my professional goals shifted to advocacy for others needing a voice and most importantly: giving back to the cancer community.The majority of my previous professional career is rooted in luxury retail, fashion styling, and show production. My years in the fashion industry were spent as the Fashion Stylist on photo shoots for various national and international publications. My attention-to-detail and vast knowledge of costume history and the current fashion zeitgeist, always proved beneficial. I am always adept in trend forecasting and stay up-to-date on all things: Fashion Industry. I am proud of my demonstrated method for professional selling and relationship-building with high-profile clientele and vendors.
