The Appalachian College Association (ACA) is a consortium of 35 small, liberal arts colleges in Central Appalachia. My role at the ACA was to provide professional development trainings and workshops for faculty and staff in our member institutions.• Managed $10m+ private and federal grants to provide scholarships for undergraduate students and professional development opportunities for faculty and staff at member institutions• Along with Vice President for Academic Programs, developed strategic plan in order for grant criteria to be met• Built relationships with external consultants (Excelencia in Education, Chicago Center for Urban Life and Culture, Global Perspective Institute, University of North Carolina – Asheville)• Facilitated multiple community groups (study abroad, campus safety, financial aid, etc.)• Created ACA Student Leadership Summit• Thought leader in development/implementation of Teaching and Learning Institute

As Professional Development Coordinator for this $17M federal grant, it was my responsibility to provide technical support for classroom teachers and to create and implement leadership workshops for school and district administrators. • Created and facilitated a Leadership Task Force comprised of all the superintendents in six school districts we served• Built relationships with third party vendors to provide needed technical support• Facilitated classroom observation team to collect data regarding teacher effectiveness and student outcomes• Recommended technology products that would enhance student learning • Created and managed a $600,00 annual professional development budget
