My job is to create fun, effective, and engaging content for learners of diverse backgrounds. I absolutely love what I do! In my current role as a trainer for the Hawaii Employers Council, I develop, deliver, and maintain training courses covering various topics for our membership clients. Additionally, I also assist in maintaining our company's learning management system and course catalog. Throughout all of my responsibilities at HEC, I enjoy working through a service-oriented outlook when collaborating with other departments and members to analyze learning needs and deliver effective, solution-based training. Prior to my role at HEC, I was the manager of learning and development for the St. Louis Public Library. In this position, I developed and maintained the company's comprehensive learning roadmap and training schedule for 400+ staff. I worked to establish relevant learning objectives, as well as created and re-mastered a variety of course types ranging from ILT to e-learning experiences. My work is supported by the hands-on experiences I gained during my time as an educator. In my previous teaching roles, I designed and implemented engaging learning experiences for 700+ students per week. Additionally, I regularly collaborated with colleagues to analyze district fine arts educational needs, and facilitated both large and small group learning on a daily basis.I am proficient in Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, managing LMS platforms, and other e-learning resources. Curriculum development and project management are also career-strengths. Some of my additional skills include my public speaking and capacity for facilitation, my writing and research abilities, verbal and written communication, as well as my ability to work both independently and as part of a team. In my personal life, I am very passionate about literacy, animal welfare, and music. Reading is a favorite hobby of mine, and I have two cats who I love! Over the years I've volunteered for several animal shelters.
