For the last 10 years I have been an Olympic Hopeful in the javelin. Unfortunately, injuries plagued my body and laid my Olympic aspirations to rest. Though competing at a high level was a goal of mine, I am now the owner/operator of an athletic training academy where I syphon the passion and drive I had as an athlete, into coaching. My respect for athletics and the lessons learned, has been an unbelievable asset that I continue to integrate daily in order to inspire kids and coaches to surpass their potential. I am grateful for never making the [Olympic] Team because what I gained was more than any trophy or jersey worn. Prior to my javelin career, I planned to pursue a job in professional sport with the focus of media and public relations, though, over the last few years I've developed an interest in mental health - in and out of the sport platform. As my business continues to grow, I believe it’ll be a catapult into a broader dream for the entire community. Specifically, Ecotherapy has become an interest as I am qualified to work in national parks. Although mental health isn't specifically linked to my degrees, I still believe that it is an essential part of who I am as a person and how I want to give back to the community in which I live.I have had an extensive background in sport with the following roles:During my undergrad, I worked with the Cleveland Browns in the press box, assisting with in-game stats and post game interviews. Additionally, I did an internship with the Akron Racers, a woman's professional softball team, organizing and developing clinics, assisting in ticket sales and working directly with the athletes during post game interviews with fans. I have an extremely eccentric personality, consider myself to be organized, I work well with my peers, adversity is no stranger to me and I love to be challenged on a daily basis. The athletic path I've chosen to take over the last decade has postponed my "career" though I am not regretting a bit of it. Through the platform of sport, I have been able to develop several interpersonal skills as well as business skills that can be nothing but beneficial as I embark on my next journey.
