Ever since I was fourteen years old, I wanted to be a teacher and I am so grateful that I am where I am and that those dreams are my reality that I live daily. I welcome change and adventure and have enjoyed contributing to any school community that I have been a part of. I briefly ventured into school administration with no regrets and listened to my instincts when my heart was calling. I am interested in both informal and formal leadership and I want to make a difference - systemically. I have a lot of positive ways that I want to contribute to this world. My leadership beliefs and connections in the classroom are also informed by my experiences working in retail and customer service - always treat others with kindness, respect, and dignity. We do not always know someone’s story so we should lean in to actively listen. Lead side-by-side if possible. Lift each other up and make space for one another. Be authentically you and have a genuine sense of belonging - that is the real diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have earned a Ph.D in Organizational Leadership through Adler University. I also have an MEd degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Equity Studies in Education from SFU, a Pearson SIOP Certificate focused in English Language Learning, UBC’s Learn & Teach Mental Health certificate, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Education from SFU. Skilled in Equitable Education, Inclusive Assessment, Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, Writing, Language Arts, and Teaching.
