Halo Film Systems has grown out of a company called Photo Higher. Kimberley Attwell, the inspiration behind the company, started designing camera gimbals for aerial photography with remote controlled helicopters as a hobby back in 2002. In 2006 he established Photo Higher and started manufacturing his first commercially available gimbal called the Fly Pod

Our Current Services: Range from low level photography of residential and commercial ventures, mariners, construction sites through to sporting events and assisting the motion picture industry. We are in the process of being able to offer thermal imaging from our UAS to assist with ‘search and rescue’ or other ‘law enforcement’ operations. We are also able to gather high definition geo special data for customers allowing aerial images to be used in 3D mapping.We also have strong product design and development skills and solid modelling experience. So we can also provide innovative design and development for client specific parts. Through our manufacturing experience we have learnt and gained allot of experience around Lean Manufacturing and 5s.Our Current Products: Photo Higher specialises in the designed and development of camera mount platforms and precision camera gimbals for Unmanned Aircraft Systems which can be used on variety of aerial vehicles such as helicopters, planes, blimps and multi-rotor systems.o Icarus Serieso Electric powered Vertical Takeoff and Landing Unmanned Aircraft Systems - VTOL UASo Orbit Series stabilised camera mount and gimbal;o True 3 axes gimbal with electronic stabilisation;o Fly Pod series camera mounts;o Light weight systems for small cameras and electric machines;o Mini Pod camera mounts;o Simple 2 and 3 axes camera mounts designed for small electric helicopters.o Scorpion serieso 5 axes gimbals allowing both electronic and mechanical gyro Our camera mounts are highly regarded around the world and have been designed using the latest technology. This ensures that we are competitive in the market and also enables us to meet our customer’s demands which include: quality materials, light weight, and most importantly gives them the tools to get the job done on time and in budget.

 Production Manager for the Wellington and Auckland factory which covered the following:o Managing staff and ensuring they have the resource to get job done efficiently and in a timely manner;o Ensuring Health and Safety measures were in place and that staff were aware of all potential hazards and that all practible steps were taken to minimise any Health and Safety risks;o Managing stock and ensuring we had enough stock and work to keep all staff busy;o Managing production planning and quality to ensure DIFOT measures were met and that job when out in full on time;o Working with suppliers to ensure our specifications were met, quality and to make sure we received our stock in time;

 Managing the Engineering team and setting up manufacturing processes which cover the following:o Managing the engineering staff and planning their work load. Managing staff expectations and setting up KPI’s and having regular performance management meetings so they know what they are expected to do and to get all round feedback.o Ensuring TPM’s (total preventative maintenance) schedules are up to date and done in a timely manner and implementing a continuous improvement attitude;o The engineering team consists of six staff - one tool maker, electrician, three fitters, and one apprentice o Identifying improvements within the factory and company processes such as standard operating procedures for manufacturing as well as setting up and implementing purchase order request process etc for the company;o Training and implementing 5’s thought the company, and carrying out and project leading a number of 5’s projects around the factory;o Communicating with external customers and working with them to resolve any manufacturing issues, as well as quoting jobs and being part of carrying out and setting up a price review policy;o Planning production and ensuring manufacturing have the resource to complete these jobs in a timely manner;o Continuously working with supplier to ensure we are getting the best price and ensuring all costs are covered when manufacturing parts for customers to ensure we are making a fair Gross Profit;
