About Kimberly Apodaca

I am currently a PhD candidate in the lab of Drs. Gerald P. Linette and Beatriz Carreno at the University of Pennsylvania. I have 7 years of research experience with 5 of those years in Cancer Immunotherapy. During my time at the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies at UPenn, I have gained extensive knowledge in CAR T cell development and innovative strategies for the development of new therapies. My current project is focused on the development and editing strategy for a Universal CAR T cell therapy. Along with the technical skills I have developed, I have also gained invaluable experience in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in and out of the lab. Supporting underrepresented minorities in science has been a passion of mine that I hope to carry throughout my career.
