Kimberly Conlon is an Economist at the Federal Trade Commission. Her research interests include industrial organization and applied microeconomics. She is currently working on a project which uses a random coefficient multiple-discrete choice model to examine the impact that streaming services have had on the demand for television services. During her time as a graduate student she has had a lot of experience communicating complex ideas to audiences with varying levels of technical backgrounds---ranging from presenting her research during seminars to explaining concepts and models to undergraduates during classes. The courses she taught ranged in difficulty from Introduction to Macroeconomics, which places more emphasis on economic intuition, to more difficult upper-level classes such as Government Regulations and Intermediate Microeconomics, which place more emphasis on economic models.Prior to her graduate studies, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in the International Finance Division. During this time, she was part of the team which tracked developments in the euro area in the midst of the euro area sovereign debt crisis.
