- Researched and refined the core concept of the school through inspiration from schools visits, small-scale pilots, and feedback from a community design team- Leveraged support of executive coach, cabinet of advisors, and founding board of directors to secure 5-year approval as the first charter school in St. Louis County - Secured over $350,000 in pre-launch funding and approximately $1.6 million in launch funding for the first 3 years- Led the school through the planning period and start-up, including oversight of securing a facility, recruiting students, hiring staff, and establishing the academic program and school culture- Increased student enrollment 180% from Year 1 to Year 2 with over 90% retention of eligible students - Managed school leadership team to create opportunities for teacher growth through professional development, rigorous planning, and coaching; design a school culture that promotes social-emotional and academic learning and student leadership; and implement high-quality curriculum with tiered supports for all students and subgroups- Created and maintained systems for accountability and improvement for all members of the organization
