Summer learning loss," also known as the "summer slide," refers to students losing academic skills during the summer break. This phenomenon particularly affects math and reading abilities, and is more pronounced among low-income students. In light of this, I've decided to establish a summer tutoring program for elementary and middle school students. The program features an interactive learning approach, which allows students to socialize in a group while receiving individual assistance, maintaining a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio.Our mission is to provide every student in Marin County with access to quality academic support during the summer. By offering affordable tutoring services, we aim to empower students to maintain their learning momentum and prevent summer learning loss. In addition, we strive to foster social skills in a fun and engaging environment.
