•Deployed to the Gulf Coast for ten months to identify un-met needs and develop projects for national service teams in the five Gulf states (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama & Florida) affected by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma and to represent the Corporation for National and Community Service in discussions with Federal Emergency Management Agencies , the National Voluntary Organizations Active on Disaster, national nonprofits (like the Salvation Army and Red Cross), local nonprofits and grassroots organizations, CNCS state commissions, and other government agencies about how to best utilize Corporation resources to meet the region’s needs.•Negotiated funding for, oversaw the budget of and helped draft six mission assignments, more then three mission amendments and one inter agency agreement with FEMA totaling close to $6 million dollars .

•The AmeriCorps NCCC team leader program brings together citizens of all ages and backgrounds who are committed to national service to provide experience and leadership to teams of AmeriCorps NCCC members as they work to strengthen communities. Team Leaders on staff act as assistant managers to the unit they are assigned to, acting in the Unit Leaders (UL) stead when he is called away to other duties.•Assistant manager of nine team leaders (TL’s) and two acting team leaders; provided administrative and motivational support through weekly written and verbal communications; counseled and guided team leaders in team building, interpersonal communications, group dynamics, and conflict resolution.
