As district learning lab facilitator, I design and co-facilitate job-embedded professional learning for K-7 teachers, building and district administrators. We study teaching and use a variety of protocols to consider instructional design as well as to study our beliefs about teaching, learning and thinking. As a classroom teacher I research the ways that students view their role as 21st century literate people. I have experience with grades K-8. I work in partnership with our Cultures of Thinking leadership team to design opportunities for students to advance and deepen their thinking in meaningful ways.As the K-5 literacy and social studies curriculum coordinator I have created three- five year vision plans and budget forecasts. Organize and facilitate building and district-wide professional development across 7 elementary buildings, including instructional rounds and learning labs. Collaborate with K-12 building administrators and central office staff to plan for instructional initiatives such as greater implementation of the Common Core State Standards, Response to Intervention, Comprehensive Needs Assessments and AdvancEd reporting. Serve on the district Instructional Leadership Council, the Teaching and Learning Council, the district strategic planning team and the Superintendent's Advisory Council. Serve as a school improvement liaison with several building improvement teams. Work to create a closer match to instruction, assessment and school improvement initiatives.
