I'd like to take the time and share of my compassion, accountability, respect and quality of care I give as a PSW, working with clients in the geriatric field and individuals with disabilities. I've applied excellent patient skills, attention to detail and organizational skills in various home health, retirement, long-term care and hospital environments.As part of my PSW career I've been accountable not only to my managers but to the families of the clients as well. While showing compassion and respect to the clients, I've been responsible for notifying families of any potential health changes and or concerns while working with Dr's and Nurses.I completed the Personal Support Worker Certificate program through Fanshawe College in London, ON in 2008. Majority of my clinical placement was on a Alzheimer / Dementia ward. I have 2 years of volunteer home care experience taking care of a disabled young woman who has paralysis due to Spina Bifida. I had to take care of all her personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, laundering, Assist with Shopping, and any other activities of daily living she required.Prior to now I was working in a retirement home in NFLD for 2 years, I've been with We Care - CBI Home Health Services for 7 years, currently with them but looking to get a more stable position with guaranteed hours.I have an excellent attendance record as well as written, verbal, and communication skills. Certification in Standard First Aid with CPR C + AED updated February 4th and 5th 2017. Have an up to date Police Check with a Vulnerable Sector search, received January 24th/2017, a new one will be done if required.While working as a PSW in home health, hospitals, retirement and long-term care environments, I've consistently demonstrated my ability to work independently and also as a contributing member of a health care team, including but not exclusive to working with fellow PSW's and nurses, all while providing the highest possible level of patient care.
