Assessment and intervention of a variety of emergent and non-emergent health conditions, comply with evidenced-based protocols, policies and procedures, provide emotional support for patients and families, advocate for patients, transport of critically ill patients to inpatient units, triage according to ESI guidelines, initiate MEC approved orders as appropriate, obtain vital signs, EKGs, and labs, establish peripheral IVs, medicationreconciliation and administration (to include titration of high risk medications), communicate and cooperate within a multidisciplinary team, train new members of the nursing team, provide education to patients and families, provide culturally competent care, utilize interpreter services, thoroughly document findings in medical record within a timely fashion.
