PresidentUnfolding Blessings, Inc. Oct 2021 - PresentThe corporation is formed for charitable purposes. It is designed to benefit the society or a specific group of individuals within that society. The purpose include educational, humanitarian, or religious. My goal is to further develop the nonprofit organization, UnFolding Blessings, Inc.Professionally, I have a 25-year career showcasing exemplary performance while owning accountability for the development of various programs and strategic initiatives. I am employed with Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU). In my current role, I assist, plan, and implement equity programs and ensure compliance with current Florida Statues and rules and regulations of the appropriate governing agencies. In my previous position, I served as the Case Manager for the Division of Student Affairs. I acted as the liaison that connected students with resources on and off campus. I also coordinated the Dorothy Henderson Scholars Program (DHSP); which assists students who are experiencing homelessness and were a part of the foster care system. In addition, I am also a Certified Life Coach and a Florida Notary Public.I’ve dreamed of establishing a nonprofit organization since 2005. There has always been a passion to serve others. As a single parent in 1994, I experienced my share of hardships. It was difficult being financially capable of providing the necessities for my daughter. I often shopped at the local thrift markets, to find adequate clothing to wear, and furniture for my living space. During that specific time, the resources that are available now were non-existent then. Partnering with nonprofit organizations that cater to disadvantaged and marginalized individuals is a supportive advantage.During my appointment, I encountered students who were experiencing extenuating circumstances and have dependents that they are responsible for. My experience and education have prepared me to work well with others and build relationships throughout the Tallahassee community.
