I am currently coordinator of the Hillsboro School District's vision and hearing screening program, and co-leader for our team of five. I work with school nurses, audiologists, teachers, office managers and health occupations supervisors as well as the Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation,and student and parent volunteers to facilitate the annual vision and hearing screening of approximately 6000 students in 27 elementary schools and to ensure compliance with state mandates. I also work as a substitute in various roles at several local schools. I have volunteered most recently as Calvary Lutheran's volunteer coordinator for Family Promise, a program that works to better the lives of homeless families in our community. I also volunteered at our local school district helping students with reading, and produced programs for Tualatin Valley Community Television. In addition to my bachelor's degree I have completed a year of training with the city of Hillsboro's CERT volunteer program.
