About Kimberly Otchere
My diversity portfolio rests in strong relationship development, curriculum design, and communication. To date, my work has been and continues to be greatly collaborative. I understand that in order for my organization to see the diversity vision to fruition we must engage all members of the organization. I have co-developed division-wide and departmental programs, training and development opportunities, as well as inclusive policies for thousands of organizational members. In this work, I have learned that we must communicate who we aspire to be as an organization along with developing tangible tools, for staff and students to be the change we desire to see in our organization. I develop diversity and multicultural programs as well as intercultural competency trainings with topics ranging from race to faith, sexual orientation and social class. As a trained Intergroup Dialogue facilitator, my practice has a dialogic approach to engaging inclusion and social justice education. Ultimately, I desire to commit my skills, talents, & gifts to develop agents of social change. As I continue to acquire resources, I make it a priority to share them with all those in the community. I desire to continue infusing theories and tenants of social justice in my work as I move to create new avenues and policies to best represent and serve diverse populations.
