In my previous position I was trained in four different lines of business:*Benefits (Member and Provider)I was responsible for answering any/all questions in regards to whether or not a serviceis eligible for coverage.If the member was responsible for any of the charges this would be the time to make themaware of what the charges may be.When I was speaking to the provider I would make them aware if the service being renderedrequires pre-certification.*Claims (Member and Provider) In this line of business I was responsible for explaining how a claim was processed. Ifany of the services denied and why they were denied.There were some instances where payment for the provider or reimbursement for the memberwas not received. I was required to stop payment on the first check and reissue anotherone.* BillingIn this line of business I was responsible for answering any questions a member wouldhave in regards to their account. (Example: due date, amount due, the last paymentreceived)If a policy cancelled I would counsel the member on what steps need to be taken in orderto reinstate their policy.* Web SupportWhenever a member had trouble accessing or navigating the website it was myresponsibility to assist them according to their concern. I did have the ability to"Impersonate the Member" in order to access their account. This way I could direct themaccording to their concern. There were instances when a member was unable to remembertheir user id/password. I was able to remind the member of their user id, reset theirpassword, update their email address or in extreme cases disable their web accountpermanently.
