I am currently investigating cardiovascular disease and risk factors among agricultural workers in Texas. I have been awarded a grant from the Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) to conduct mixed methods efforts looking at CVD perception, risk, and health seeking behavior among Texas agricultural workers.

Investigating the social, economic, mental, and pulmonary health consequences of COVID-19 on Purhépecha and Spanish speaking farmworkers in USA and Mexico.

In conjunction with the Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo in Mexico, UC Davis is working to investigate Sexual Harassment in the Agricultural Workplace. We will conduct focus groups, deliver surveys, and interview agroindustry leaders to investigate perspectives on and the characteristics of sexual harassment endured by farmworkers. Our goal is to collect information to provide suggestions and recommendations to support system change and prevent sexual harassment for this vulnerable population.My responsibilities include but are not limited to :Assisting on a sexual harassment(SH) in the agricultural workplace study at UC Davis.Helping investigate risk factors, prevalence, and frequency of SH in the Ag workplace.Developing a literature review on sexual harassment in the agricultural workplace. Lead the farm worker survey instrument, protocol, consent documents, and study flyers.Leading the IRB package developments and revision assignments.

Assisted Registered Clinical Dietitian with patient medical charts, assessments, and diet orders.Worked on patient meals, followed prescribed diets for patients, tray line, and chef work.

Assisted on an Embryonic Stem Cell and glucose study at UC Riverside. Helped study the effects of glucose on cultured stem cells within the first 2 weeks of gestation.
