I was responsible for documenting the patient's chief complaint and history, checking the patient's vision, pupillary reaction, and confrontational field, performing a refraction, dilating the patient's eyes, and preparing the patient before seeing the doctor. I am also very familiar with performing visual field and GDX testing. In my down time, I receive and triage patient phone calls, re-stock exam rooms, re-fill prescription medications for patients, and file charts and paperwork.

I helped patients order contact lenses and update their contact lens RX as necessary. I am qualified to use a slit lamp and phoropter, over-refract over contacts, and train patients to wear soft contacts, rigid gas-permeable contacts, and scleral contacts. I take pride in my work with the ten physicians to provide the newest and healthiest contact lenses for our patients' individual needs.

I began work at Cabarrus Eye Center as the front office receptionist for two of the ten physicians. I was responsible for greeting patients as they checked in, entering patient data into the computer system, verifying insurance coverage, accepting patient phone calls and triaging those calls appropriately, collecting co-pays, and scheduling appointments. I also helped get referrals from other offices and filed paper charts.
