Providing technical assistance and oversight to Maryland school systems addressing the disproportionate discipline gap and reducing suspensions and expulsions. Increasing school leaders knowledge and skill using alternative, responsive interventions to student misconduct.

Led over 1,100 diverse, 44% English Language learners and 65% poverty, seventh and eighth grade students and 130 staff members. Improved student and staff safety, decreased incidents of physical altercations by 50% in one year and increased English Language Learners exit rate from 0% to 12% in one year through strategic planning and restructure of master schedule.

NASSP Breakthrough School 2013League of Innovative Schools 2014Led sixth, seventh and eighth grade students and staff members in continuous efforts to improve student learning and maintain a collaborative school climate. Consistently improved student academic performance in reading from 40% meeting when enter in grade six to 80% meeting at the end of grade eight; improvements in math from 30% meeting when enter in grade six to 60% meeting at the end of grade eight. Decreased incidents of student behavioral referrals by 80% through use of Restorative Justice Practices and Project Based Learning.

Provided direct instruction to individuals enrolled in the Masters of Education co-hort programs in Bangor, Augusta and Auburn, Maine. Courses taught include curriculum design, assessment and evaluation, dynamics of learning communities, change theory, literacy, and critical issues in education.

Behavior Resource Teacher: Provided behavioral support, classroom management and individual student planning, to student body of 600 K-5 and 60 staff members. Developed and implemented school wide behavior management plan resulting in 60% decrease in discipline referrals, and significant increase in student academic performance.

Project NEXUSTwo year Federal grant to provide professional development and technical assistance to regular and special education personnel within the state of Maryland. Professional development programs in the area of behavior change developed and implemented with 3 other team members.Behavior Support Services ProjectProvided behavior support services to individuals with developmental disabilities at school and in their home. Direct technical support to classroom teachers in the area of completing functional behavior assessments, creating a positive support plan for behavior change, and collecting and analyzing behavioral data.Cooperative Schools ProjectMaryland Department of Education contract to develop a model for the inclusion of middle school age students labeled as Emotionally Disturbed in the regular public school setting. Provided direct behavioral support to 7 students with the diagnosis of ED as well as consultation and technical support to administrators of 800 capacity middle school and 800 capacity junior high school in Annapolis, Maryland.

Implemented Individualized Education Programs for inpatient children during hospitalization. Supervised and evaluated 30 direct care staff.
