As a seasoned facilitator and educator I am committed to creating and facilitating impactful opportunities for learning and growth. Whether it’s helping someone discover a new facet of their personality during a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator workshop, facilitating improved board effectiveness through discussion and learning, or motivating someone to realize their full leadership potential, I enjoy working with people to help them develop new skills and grow as professionals. I believe learning should shift people’s perspectives, awaken their curiosity and help them apply what they’re learning to their everyday life. Highlights of my work include:• Re-establishing a community leadership program that trains participants in leadership concepts and motivates them to greater community involvement.• Helping organizations and agencies complete strategic and/or program planning, solve organizational problems, or embrace change. I work with an average of 25 different organizations a year.• Planning and designing 10 annual needs assessment events in multiple Wyoming counties during my tenure with University of Wyoming Extension. • Leading evaluation efforts for 3 community-based leadership (development) institutes across western Wyoming to determine the long-term impacts of the program(s) on individuals, organizations, and communities.I also believe strongly in serving my community. I previously served on the Board of Directors for the Evanston Urban Renewal Agency, an organization committed to creating and maintaining a thriving and economically diverse downtown. I enjoyed contributing to EURA’s major projects, including the rehabilitation and restoration of a historic, culturally significant building in the downtown. Once a ruined and abandoned building, the Evanston Cultural Center (historic Strand Theater) is now an important asset to the downtown and the people of Evanston.My work facilitating and training teams has helped them to harness the power of groups to complete big projects and achieve outstanding results. American author and speaker Jack Canfield once said, “People don't need more information…they need 'aha moments,' they need awareness, they need things that actually shift and change them.” I strive for more a-ha moments for myself and those I work with as they build capacity to tackle community issues.Skills/Areas of Interest: Facilitation, program development and maintenance, community engagement, continuous learning, organizational development, mediation, and historic preservation.
