Currentwww.kimdonellaneducation.com• Work with a team of 5 specialists • Work with students ages 3-17, specializing in children with learning differences, in private and public schools, in one-on-one and group settings, as well as homeschooling.• Perform elaborate and diverse assessments to get a comprehensive understanding of a student’s learning profile, academic and cognitive strengths and challenges, and be able to better understand the whole child. • Teach phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, math, science, and social studies for all grades K-12. • Teach study skills and test taking skills, including specialized curriculums for HSPT, ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, school academic testing, etc. • Participate in IEP discussions /school meetings with parents and school administration to fully encompass all aspects of the child’s education to create an easy transition of learning between school and home.• Advocacy during the IEP/504 Process• Case management and work with the entire team (parents, teachers, and other professionals) to incorporate goals across all aspects of the child’s day.• Use multi-sensory methodologies and hands-on-learning techniques.• Create individualized curriculums incorporating California Common Core State Standards.• Create educational products and materials customized for educating each child.• Incorporate up-to-date technologies for interactive learning, utilizing computer programs and the iPad.• Provide mentorship and encouragement to each child, boosting self-confidence in order to foster self-confident, independent learners who understand their learning profiles and can advocate for themselves.• Create rewards system for positive reinforcement.
